Her music inspired us all

Samantha and I have been friends since first grade. She has always been there when I needed her and will miss her dearly. Samantha was a hard-working, intelligent, caring and a very thoughtful person. She was very close to her friends and family and had a lot of people who cared about her.
Samantha always lived her life to the fullest and loved to laugh and smile. Whenever I was feeling down and needed a friend to lean on she was there for me. We have been through a lot over the years, but no matter where life took us we knew we could count on one another.
When I think of Samantha, I remember how much she loved music. Because of her lovely voice, she was asked to sing at several events. Her music was so inspiring that in later years, when Samantha went to a class reunion, many of our former classmates came up and recounted their memories of her singing. Now she is singing in Heaven’s Choir.

    “Joe”

    A great friend

Losing a best friend, especially one that is with you all of the time, is not an easy thing. I suppose that we take them for granted sometimes, because they are always there. When these special people aren’t there any more, we don’t know who to go to with things, because the one that would listen is now gone.
When you not only work with someone but hang out with them and make them a part of your family, it only adds to the sorrow. Now the one that you would go to, to talk about things, is now the one that is gone.
Like a shadow, he was always there, in fact when he wasn’t, people would ask where he was.
Unfortunately one bad choice was the end.
On that morning, I never envisioned my day to turn out the way it did.
Such a loss is so difficult to understand.
Joe was caring, fun, and good friend to the end.
Sometimes I would just want to take a ride to clear my head and think I would go over and pick him up.
Unfortunately he wasn’t there anymore, and that is when reality really sets in.
But I realize that I can be thankful to have had such a friend in my life, some people don’t ever have that.

A true light in all of this darkness

When you watch the news, look around and talk to people, there is just so much darkness out there.  Then, the loss of a loved one hits you.  When Tami left us, the whole world seemed to crash in on us all at once.  There were arrangements to be made, belongings to go through, the garage to clean out, paper work to  take care of.  Just so much!

The worst was going through all of her personal things, like the Christmas and birthday presents that had been given to her, and the pictures that she had saved that I drew as a child.  It all just added more heart ache to the situation.  Then I realized that I have all of these beautiful memories that truly became my treasures.

And that has been the true light in the darkness.

      My snake named Jake

      Jake,

A lot of people cannot understand why I had you as a pet.  You were more than a pet to me.  As soon as I came home from a long day at work you were at the top of your cage and wanted to come out with me.  We had a special bond that people could not see.  I am going to miss you so much.  I will never forget you and want to thank you for bringing so much joy to my life.  You will never be forgotten.  You will be always on my mind and forever in my heart.

      Love,

      Your Pal Joe

Cleo was a big fluffy bundle of love

He passed away this august.  I miss him like crazy.  He would stay in bed the whole time that I was in bed.  He would always give me head-butts and kisses.  He loved playing with his toys and chewing on all of my shoe strings.  I feel so fortunate to have shared his life.

            Freddie the family pooch

            Freddie,

We are going to miss you.  You were the first addition to our family.  You gave us 12 wonderful years.  As soon as we had Maggie (our daughter) you followed her everywhere, never leaving her side and keeping her safe.  A lot of people think a dog is just a dog, but you were a member of our family.  Our house will never be the same without you in it.  We know that God just gained a beautiful angel.  Please continue to watch over us. Until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge.

            Rest in Peace.

            Love,

            Mom & Dad & Maggie

Having a hard time forgetting Aunt Betty

Aunt Betty was a cheerful, fun-loving lady who was full of life. Her smile could light up a room and it was infectious. She made everyone around her happy. Whether it was a funny joke, her positive attitude, or her big smile, she was a delight to be around.

As a child I remember visiting my aunt almost every weekend. My mother and her sister were very close, which meant we got to spend a lot of time together. Aunt Betty was a kid at heart and loved to play with us kids. I remember games of hide and seek in her yard, or playing with my cousins large collection of toys.

My aunt taught my cousins and I a lot over the years. I will miss my aunt’s smile and positive attitude. She was incredible. She will be missed by everybody who knew her. I will always love you.

Pappa Duke was the definition of cool

Papa Duke lived a life that was full of pride, joy, and happiness. Anyone who knew my grandpa knows of his generosity, work ethic, humility and selflessness. He demonstrated these traits again and again through both his family and his career.

There are many memories Papa Duke and I have together. One of my favorite memories was when we would go to the coffee shop and have a cup of hot apple cider in the winter and smoothies in the summer.
Papa Duke will be missed dearly. I hope to someday become half the man he was. People like my grandpa are one in a million.

America lost a good man in my son

In loving memory of our beloved son, Joseph Williams, who passed away August 3rd, 2015, serving in the marines.

Joseph was a compassionate, caring and dedicated  young man.  He was so proud to serve his country.  His loss is too soon and so great.  America has lost another truly good man.

He will be sadly missed by all those that love him & his parents.

It takes two to make a thing go right

I believe that having your grandparents at your wedding means as much to them as it does to you. Sometimes we are fortunate enough to have them both.
Both of my grandparents attended our wedding. I was very close to them, especially growing up. I just had my grandmother on my dad’s side, but not as close with her.
About 6 months after our wedding, my grandmother passed away and my grandfather was just devastated, as we all were. But I was so blessed to still have him. About a year later our daughter was born and I was so happy that he was able to share in that. But a broken heart sometimes just won’t mend. Shortly after that my grandfather passed away. I believe that he just missed my grandma so much the grief just seemed to overtake him.
I guess being alone after all those years of marriage was just too much.
But I have beautiful memories to last me forever of the two of them.

                    Remembering my beloved companion, Sebastian.

“You have to take him,” my mom said to me. “ He is sitting on the mound where they are going to bury him.” Well, we did, and he was the best dog ever!
We pulled up to the house and said we were there to get Sebastian. He was chewing on cans in the yard. They just left us take him. We put him in the truck and that was the beginning of an amazing 14 years with a best friend we could have asked for.
I was a little nervous when our daughter was born that he would be jealous, but that was not the case. Our daughter could crawl in Sebastian’s pen or lay on him, or anything she wanted to do.
And let me tell you about a watch dog, he would let you know if there was someone different in the neighbor’s driveway.
Until the very end, he was our protector, and never let on like he was in pain.
Not only was he the best dog ever, he was part of our family.
                    We miss him so much!
